Political debts come in all shapes, don’t they, Andy? Sometimes they don’t fit anymore. Seriously, now, do you think anybody in the 6th hasn’t noticed you’re paying more attention to problems of the 5th (where you dug up all that coal money) than problems in the 6th, where you managed briefly to make Cat fans believe they were coal fans. Some polls now show they now wish they had Ben Chandler back. After this little display, maybe they will. Can you say: one-termer?

way to go mr barr,but i’m afraid your requests has fallen on deaf ears.we in eastern ky don’t want the obama’s vision for us(welfare,food stamps,government dependency)all obama has done is make a bad economy worse than it was before he came into office.on the current course we’re on she can come back in 10-15 yrs and she will have seen most working people transformed into government dependents with little hope of making a better life for ourselves.but i guess that’s the liber socialist democrat way.

More people work at Walmart than do in the coal fields. Thats a fact. Natural gas is killing coal..thats another fact.
Eastern KY needs to look forward not backwards. Life is changing whether you like it or not. Coal is dying! McConnell is just a blowhard who never moves the ball forward for us in EKY.

Coal is a large employer in Kentucky but it is a dying industry that has outlived it usefulness. McConnell is so old-school and outdated that he doesn’t realize that he needs to find a replace industry, the more difficult job, for the area instead of cashing in on his lobbyist.

Gabbard entered a guilty plea on Friday in Franklin Circuit Court to three counts of abuse of public trust and three counts of willfully filing or making false tax returns, and/or failure to pay tax. The plea agreement also requires Gabbard to resign immediately as Owsley County Clerk and pay $61,118 in restitution to the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Why doesn’t Mitch do something about the pollution that coal-fired power plants release in Kentucky. Due to the sole reliance on coal for producing electricity, Kentucky leads the nation in toxic air emissions. This air pollution takes years off of the lives of Kentuckians. Why should we all pay with our health to support the profits of King Coal and Big Utilities?
