‘Comment’ will focus on 2013 this weekend, 2014 next weekend

“Comment on Kentucky,” a public-affairs show of the Kentucky Educational Television network, will discuss major news stories of 2013 on this weekend’s show and look ahead to 2014 on next weekend’s show.

Joining host Ferrell Wellman for both shows will be Joe Arnold, political reporter for WHAS-TV in Louisville; Ronnie Ellis, Frankfort reporter for CNHI, Inc.; and Jack Brammer, Frankfort bureau chief for the Lexington Herald-Leader.

This weekend’s show will air live at 8 p.m. Friday on KET. Next weekend’s show will be taped.

“Kentucky Tonight,” another KET public-affairs show, will not air Dec. 23 and 30. It will return on Monday, Jan. 6, at 8 p.m.

That show, with host Bill Goodman, will discuss the 2014 General Assembly that begins Jan. 7.

Scheduled guests are Senate President Robert Stivers, R-Manchester; House Speaker Greg Stumbo, D-Prestonsburg; House Minority Floor Leader Jeff Hoover, R-Jamestown; and Senate Minority Floor Leader R.J. Palmer, D-Winchester.
