FRANKFORT – Gov. Steve Beshear appointed two new members Wednesday to the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education, which oversees higher education in the state.
Glenn L. Means III of Mount Sterling, representing students, will replace Christopher J. Ryan of Lexington, whose term has expired. Means will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2014.
Robert H. Staat of Goshen, representing faculty members from a state institution of postsecondary education, will replace Nancy J. McKenney of Lexington, whose term has expired. Staat, who teaches at the University of Louisville, will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2017.
The council is made up of 13 citizen members, a faculty member and a student member appointed by the governor. The state education commissioner serves as a nonvoting member.
