FRANKFORT — More than 3,000 reporters, editors, bloggers and other media representatives are expected to attend Thursday night’s vice presidential debate at Centre College.

Gov. Steve Beshear will host a reception for media representatives from 40 different countries Wednesday evening at Centre College’s Norton Center, Beshear’s office said Monday. Beshear will use the reception as a way to tout Kentucky.

“We want to take advantage of this opportunity to tell these media representatives about Kentucky tourism, economic development, agriculture and other topics,” Beshear said.

A Web site for media attending the debate has been set up and the state has sent emails to reporters touting Kentucky in the days leading up to the debate.
