‘Comment’ will focus on Tuesday’s elections; KET schedules other election programs

Tuesday’s primary elections will be the top topic on this weekend’s “Comment on Kentucky,” a public affairs show of the Kentucky Educational Television network.

Joining substitute host Bill Bryant of Lexington’s WKYT-TV will be three reporters: Tony McVeigh of Kentucky Public Radio, Joe Gerth of The Courier-Journal and Jack Brammer of the Lexington Herald-Leader.

The 30-minute show airs live Friday at 8 p.m. EDT on KET1. It also will be broadcast at 6:30 a.m. Saturday on KET KY, 7:30 a.m. Sunday on KET KY, 12:30 p.m. Sunday on KET 1, 8 a.m. Monday on KET KY and 7:30 p.m. Monday on KET KY.

On Monday’s edition of “Kentucky Tonight,” airing at 8/ p.m. EDT on KET and at www.ket.org/live, host Bill Goodman and guests will discuss the 2011 election.

Scheduled guests are Daniel Logsdon, chair of the Kentucky Democratic Party; Steve Robertson, chair of the Republican Party of Kentucky; Jennifer Moore, former chair of the Kentucky Democratic Party and a KET election night commentator, and John David Dyche, author of “Republican Leader: A Political Biography of Senator Mitch McConnell” and a KET election night commentator.

On “One to One with Bill Goodman,” Al Cross, director of the Institute for Rural Journalism and Community Issues at the University of Kentucky, a KET election night analyst, and a long-time panelist of KET’s “Comment on Kentucky,” to discuss the 2011 Kentucky primary election at 1 p.m. EDT Sunday.

On election night, Goodman and Renee Shaw will provide statewide coverage of the 2011 primary election returns, including the race for governor and other state constitutional offices. They will be joined in the studio by political observers Al Cross, John David Dyche, and Jennifer Moore., beginning at 7 p.m. EDT.
