Campaign Watchdog: Claim that university condemned Rand Paul ‘false’

The statement: “The Baylor University president condemned him (Rand Paul) as ‘lewd, crude and grossly sacrilegious.’”
– The Kentucky Leadership Council, in an automated telephone call against Paul, the Republican U.S. Senate nominee
The ruling: False
The facts: Paul belonged to a secret society at Baylor University in the early 1980s called the NoZe Brotherhood, which had a reputation for trying to tweak religiosity at Baylor, a Baptist university. The group published satirical articles that mocked Christianity.
NoZe was banned from the campus in 1965 and again in 1978, when President Abner McCall suspended the group for being “lewd, crude and grossly sacrilegious,” according to a 1997 article in the school newspaper that was quoted by Baylor Magazine in 2003.
However, McCall took that action well before Paul began attending the school in 1981. The president never condemned Paul.
The Kentucky Leadership Council is a liberal group led by retired Marine Lt. Col. Andrew Horne, a Louisville attorney who ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 2006.

And one more thing. I’m a Democrat first, then an American.
Baylor University also banned DANCING until 1996. Since DANCING was “sacrilegious” and “lewd” I supposed Paul’s supposed participation was just as “crude” as the evil of DANCING to the Baylor Administration.
The same argument could be made for any one who DANCED while at Baylor since it was banned also and for likely the same uptight reasons.

that’s why they never let mr crotch grabber micheal jackson perform there.
Horne has brought shame and dishonor on both of his professions, the Marines and lawyers. Surely there is a way he can be disbarred for spreading such lies.
Let me make this simple for you. this is about the superiority of democrats and their like minded intellectuals in administrative positions throughout all areas of government. in the end, republicans want to steal your money, deny quality of life for all but 1000 or so friends, and totally eliminate health care so that everyone dies. They also want a polluted environment.
Can’t wait until Rand Paul destroys Jack Conway tomorrow night! Gonna be a good day!
It doesn’t matter if the president of the university condemned Paul’s actions or not (God knows he should have), the fact is a woman come forth and told he tied her up and forced her to worship a false God. People, there is something wrong with this picture. If it’s not true, than why hasn’t Rand Paul tried to sue this woman? How can ANYONE try to justify such behavior? Where’s the sanity? If Rand Paul wins, it shows why Kentucky is 49th in education in the nation.
Baylor also has dorm bldgs. for blacks and hispanics only.
Please, the reason we are 49th in education is because for the better part of Kentucky’s history we have been under the control off the Democrat Party. If they weren’t so beholden to the teacher’s unions our kids might have a shot in hell.
So they condemned the club, a club he joined voluntarily AFTER the condemnation. This helps Paul look better how exactly?
Actually our washington representation is primarily Republican. Check your facts.
I am sick of these sleaze groups on both sides. Ignore real issues and stretch or make up irrelevant drivel. I got one mailer where a candidate’s big pitch was that his opponent received traffic citations. We need to eliminate partisan primaries and cut the Republican – Democrat stranglehold on power.
Go Rand Paul, Conway supports Obama’s Agenda.
Vote No on Conway

I thought Conway was just a good ol\’ boy who got caught in the wrong party at the wrong time… as it turns out… he is a phreeking crook… who uses his post to warn his dope dealing brother that the dime is about to be dropped. Two time in two years!
You can\’t make this stuff up.. and the fact that he would be holy-er than thou about something that happened decades ago about someone in college is a real gem.

Well if Rand wins we know he will make sure discrimination comes back and the seniors with get the 2,000 charge. Yes no money for drug enforcement and the end of the US Constitution. I’m a Christian and refuse to worship an Aqua Buddha no mater what Rand says. We have seen great succeful changes since 1776 and now we’ll see the end of the USA that we know. Rand will finally do what others couldn’t. He will bring the US back to it’s beginning and woman/minorities will know their place.
