Conway campaign says Paul failed to report accurate personal finances

U.S. Senate Republican nominee Rand Paul failed to disclose on his financial disclosure form with the U.S. Senate more than $20,000 he received from Medicaid through his medical practice at a Bowling Green clinic, the campaign of Democrat Jack Conway said Friday.
In a telephone news conference, Conway campaign spokesman John Collins said Paul, an eye surgeon, did not list on his 2009 form his 2007 position with the Graves-Gilbert Clinic in Bowling Green.
Collins said Paul was required to list all employment positions he held in the previous two years.
“Rand Paul talks a lot about holding government in Washington accountable,” said Collins, noting that Paul has said he would file legislation to require members of Congress to read bills before they vote on them.
“It seems Rand Paul can’t read instructions,” Collins said.
Paul’s campaign manager, Jesse Benton, said in an e-mail that Conway “is clutching at straws to avert attention from his sinking campaign. Dr. Paul’s financial disclosure was completed in good faith, and we have proactively contacted the Secretary of the Senate for any needed clarification.”
Collins said the Conway campaign learned through an Open Records request that Paul billed Medicaid in 2007 “over $70,000 and received more than $20,000 in payments.”
This is important, Collins said, because Paul has criticized Medicaid, saying the federal-state health insurance program fosters “inter-generational welfare” and claiming its coverage has spread beyond those truly in need.
“Why is he hiding the billing of more than $70,000 in Medicaid funds?” Collins asked.
Any formal complaint about the lack of disclosure would have to come from the Senate and go to the Senate Ethics Committee, Collins said, adding that he expects Paul will amend his disclosure form.
Conway, the state’s attorney general, and Paul are vying to replace retiring Republican U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning in the Nov. 2 general election.

Maybe Paul rationalized (I know,that is kind of an oxymoron) that working for that clinic was like working for McDonalds—- one of those things you kind of want to forget.
Come on folks, when’s the last time you had $20,000 just laying around you didn’t disclose on your tax form? I don’t know about most of you, but up until the last 15 years, most years I ws lucky to make $20,000. Let’s fact it this guy is trying to play the fence when it comes to governemnt money. He wants it as long as it benefits him and hates it when it benefits our seniors and needy.

Just so we are all on the same page just what is Paul going to do? All he says he will cut spending, cut taxes(taxes have not been raised), cut medicare and cut corp osha regulations. Just what is he going to cut. Education? Where do the morons think that money is going to come from when they no longer recieve federal help for education. Pony up dude give him your retirement he will get one way or another. He wants students to pick their own schools. Really? Really? what happens if everyone wants to go to the same school. OMG you people are soooooo brilliant. Medicare only if he can keep his payments and just why did he not want to report $70,000.00 in Medicare payments? Mine Safety? an accident is when someone accidently hit your car; neglect is when you send miners into mineshafts with broken methane detectors or better turn them off. Maybe a support can answer all of these questions because God knows Rand Paul cannot.

Typical Republican.
Actually I think the tax rates ought to go back to Clinton era rates for everyone. We were all doing ok during those years. Gas prices were about $.90 a gallon and the economy was booming. I also think we should add a $.25 tax to eery gallon of gas for infrastructure projects. We could build a high speed rail system to every town in America in about 20 years and it would be completely paid for. That would mean instead of going to the airport to fly to Cleveland you could catch a train and arrive just as quick.
Conway wins this election. Paul has blown it. He beat Grayson, but now looks like a younger version of Bunning.
In the end, the people will vote for the more sensible choice.
Tommy, there is a big reward if anyone can offer proof that black politicians were called napes and spat upon. I think it’s something like $100,000 that Andrew Breitbart is offering. Yet no one has claimed that reward. Why? Because it did not happen. That’s yet another lie the left has told over and over again and people like you believe it.
