Here are details from the newly released financial disclosure form of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. The form covers calendar year 2009.
Earned income: $193,400.
Honoraria, all donated to charity: None.
Major assets: Money market account, jointly owned with his wife, Elaine Chao, worth $5,000,001 to $25 million; property with carriage house rental, jointly owned, worth $1 million to $5 million.
Major sources of unearned income: Money market account earned $15,001-$50,000. Rent on Washington, D.C., carriage house, $5,001-$15,000.
Major liabilities: None.
Gifts: None.
Narrative: The biggest asset held by McConnell and his wife, former labor secretary Chao, is a Vanguard tax-exempt money market, which generated thousands of dollars for the couple.
McConnell holds two uncompensated positions outside the government. He is a visiting committee member of the University of Kentucky School of Law. At Harvard Business School, McConnell is a member of the Board of Dean’s Advisors.
Chao earned over $1,000 in salary from The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank. In nine other instances, she earned speaking fees and one stipend of the same amount.
Some of the fees came from Fox News Network; Dole Foods, Inc.; Yum! Brands, Inc., and Raytheon Company. The stipend came from The John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

How much was he worth before becoming a Senator?
Mysteriously, it seems like all the job “perks” make all of it’s members millionaires.
By my math he has not made 5,000,000 dollars in his 25 years in the senate, and he may be worth 25,000,000. hmmmm.
It seems Americans are now paying attention as Obama ordered the transparentcy act. Yes Senator McConnell has been milking the job for all it’s worth and even uses his wife to hide his stolen money. This is why Law Makers fight so hard to keep their jobs. McConnell will make millions this year as bribe money from Oil Companies and Banks give millions for a vote. McConnell set back for over a year and watched people suffer and still voted NO. He rushed to vote for Banks without a blink of an eye. Lies have been told as if we’re stupid. Now McConnell needs your vote to continue his stealing and support of Banks/Corporations. If you need help just ask the President for it, he’s the only Law Maker representing all Americans. For those unemployed think of the NO vote McConnell gave without a care for you or your kids. Stimulus was a NO vote from McConnell too.

I’m a republican and have some respect for Mr. McConnell. I expect he has come by his money in the normal ways that all well-connected persons have but what bothers me about them all is really this simple. If they have at their disposal this kind of money, how in the wide world can they relate to me & my family? How can any of them put themselves in my place when they are making laws that affect my life? My husband & I work almost around the clock. The word ‘retired’ will never be in our vocabulary. I feel guilty right now even taking the time to write this comment because I should be clipping my grocery coupons so that I can save as much as possible at the Kroger store. It just seems that all lawmakers,once elected, immediately loose touch with regular people like us. I do not hold anything against Mr. McConnell for being a multi-millionaire.(What does the Bible say about not coveting thy neighbor’s stuff?) I am just disturbed because the people on Capital Hill don’t remember what their lives were like before they got up there.
Jackie does not have to make up anything. McConnell did not earn $193,400.He may have been paid that amount but it was not earned by representing the people of Ky. He and Bush made me a Democrat two years ago, I changed my registration because of those two people.

McConnell has only cared about McConnell since his days as Jefferson County Judge Executive. Nothing has changed since then.
Ole Mitch has made out pretty well for himself, huh.. Inside info works every time. Maybe this will wake a few more up!
