Democrats and republicans, each have contrastingly different beliefs.
The democratic philosophy has always been to help the less fortunate, such as Medicare, Medicaid, minimum wage, health care, worker rights, voting rights, discrimination, etc. The republican philosophy has always been to fight against such legislation, and support only legislation that benefits the wealthy. Every day too many face the fear of not knowing if they will have food and shelter, caused by circumstances beyond their control.
The republicans try to justify Bunning’s prejudices by making the asinine claim that jobs are plentiful and anyone could find work if they weren’t lazy, looking for a free handout, and helping those in need should be denied, because we can’t afford it. The issue of affordability never concerned the republicans previously if the wealthy would profit. The democrats state openly what their beliefs are. Are the republicans ashamed to do so in a candid manner?

Boy, Bunning is a real masterpiece. Causing people to lose their jobs and to keep them from getting unemployment. Way to go Bunning!! I hope that members of your family and friends families will be affected by this. Kentucky Republicans should hang their heads in shame for re-electing this jerk to office.

Even though you got it right, rambo, those libs will NEVER admit it!!! Like you say, it doesn’t matter how unpopular Bunning is. You might be the last person on the planet supporting Bunning, with the rest of the world calling him cruel and uncaring. But why should a true conservative care what other people think? Sometimes the country needs cruelty, and Bunning has the GUTS to stand up for what’s right!

I see there are supporters of his actions in this post. Sorry people, I have to say this, he did vote against the PayGo bill so the vote against the bill shows his true feelings on government spending/accountability. He doesn’t care about gov’t spending/accountability. His motives may be to tell the GOP and the Dems he is still relevant at the ripe age of 77. Mitch McConnell may indeed be a “control freak” and well the Dems well they’re Democrats. That being said, I saw that a few of you would vote for this guy if you could. I wouldn’t be so enthusiastic about him if I were you. It really doesn’t look like he’s doing this to “help anyone” especially not to curb spending. I believe he’s angry. Look, he’s no longer relevant and old. I wonder if he’ll give up his pension to curb some of that government spending to save my grandkids?

They think that they can just keep on writing government checks and never have to pay. Slavery is in the future, not the past! Our unborn grandchildren are already chanting ‘BUNNINGJ! BUNNING!’
