The Kentucky Right to Life Association’s political action committee announced Friday that it is endorsing Secretary of State Trey Grayson in the May 18 Republican primary election for U.S. Senate.

In a statement, Grayson said he was honored to receive the endorsement of the largest anti-abortion group in Kentucky.

“The men and women involved in this organization across the Commonwealth tirelessly champion the rights of all innocent human life, and their support provides a huge boost to our campaign,” Grayson said.

“I will be a voice for the unborn and fight for those who cannot defend themselves,” Grayson pledged. “You can always count on me to stand up for Kentucky values.”

The state Right to Life Association also endorsed Grayson in his bids for secretary of state in 2003 and 2007.

David Adams, campaign manager for Grayson’s chief rival, Bowling Green eye surgeon Rand Paul, said Paul is “100 percent pro-life and will always vote to protect unborn babies.

“Rand’s grassroots supporters across Kentucky have understood this since the beginning and are doing a superior job of communicating that to Republican primary voters.”
