  1. Thomas Paine says:

Who cares? Now when he gets 120 dog-catcher endorsements, that will be a true game-changer.

  2. Nateisinthecloset says:

The hand-picked establishment candidate gets the endorsement of some of the establishment!

    Thanks for the update!

  3. Steve says:

There is a rumor going around that 57 constables that are going to endorse Grayson next, not as good as the 120 dog-catcher endorsements……

  4. Steve says:

Wow, you guys are really slow. County Judge’s are hugely important in KY. Of course the only way you would know that is if you were from KY. These County Judge’s aren’t the establishment, they are the guys that visit the country stores, go to the Dairy Queen for lunch, they really know what people are saying in the community. This is a bad, bad sign for Rand.

  5. amisspelledword says:

28 judges! thats good. i wonder how many will decide to change their mind and endorse Rand Paul? (see Dan Seum for example)

  6. Thomas Paine says:

Yep…I always consult my County Judge-Executive before I vote. Right after I talk to my urologist and my dry cleaner to see who they are endorsing.

  7. Chris says:

I am not impressed. Rand Paul will win by a sizeable margin. Although I am a Republican straight ticket voter for life, I am tired of the Old Guard. Time for some freshy-fresh!

  8. Alex says:

How is this bad for Bill Johnson or Rand Paul? There are 120 counties in Kentucky which means there are 93 other J/Es either undecided or supporting Johnson or Paul.

  9. Silly Rand Fans says:

    Alex

A majority of counties are run by Democratic County Judge Executives. So there may be a handful up for grabs but 27 is most likely a majority of Republican Judge Executives. It really is important. All politics are local.

And for the rest of you out of towners, in Kentucky, the County Judge Executive is not a judge. They run the county, kind of like a mayor for each county. If you lived in Kentucky, you’d know this.

(Except Louisville where merger has made that position entirely ceremonial)

  10. Jack McCock says:

Even though the county judge executives are important, they are putting their credibility on the line by endorsing Trey Grayson. These endorsements carry some risk.

  11. Albey Brock says:

I’m one of those 27, and here are a few things to consider. We County Judges are the point of contact for need in our communities, whether it be job creation, water lines, road repairs, emergency services, setting up shelters during extreme weather events, or can you help my son/daughter wife/husband get a job, just to name a few!! So in short we know what our respective communities needs are, and it’s vital we have federal leadership that will listen, and help us address those needs. I endorsed Trey, not because of some good ole boy bull, but because he has reached out to my office and listened to our concerns. While Doctor Paul has been to Bell County twice, and I didn’t know it until the next day when I saw it in the local paper. So if you were in my shoes what would you do??? I’m not looking to get into a debate on this thread, but felt I needed to add some reality to the debate..
Sorry for mis-spellings this post was done in a hurry…
