Grayson names political director for U.S. Senate campaign
FRANKFORT — Fleming County native Jeremy Hughes will be political director for Secretary of State Trey Grayson’s Republican bid for the U.S. Senate, Grayson said Monday.
As political director, Hughes will lead Grayson’s efforts at grassroots organization, building of coalitions and voter turnout.
Hughes was campaign manager for U.S. Rep. Geoff Davis, R-Hebron. He also managed the unsuccessful GOP campaign this summer of Jack Ditty for a special state Senate election in northeastern Kentucky.
Hughes is a veteran staffer of the Northern Kentucky Republican Victory Office, where he assisted in organizing volunteers for get-out-the-vote operations in the 4th Congressional District.
He has assisted other local candidates, including state Rep. Alecia Webb-Edgington and deputy Judge-Executive Scott Kimmich.
Hughes is a graduate of Morehead State University and lives in Kenton County.
