FRANKFORT — The Democrat running for a state Senate seat recently vacated by Republican Dan Kelly has released his first television advertisement.

Former state Rep. Jodie Haydon of Bardstown is running against Rep. Jimmy Higdon, R-Lebanon, in the December 8th special election.

Kelly, the second-highest ranking Republican in the state Senate, resigned his Central Kentucky seat when Democrat Gov. Steve Beshear appointed to him a circuit court judgeship.
