Democrat pulls in $65,000 for state Senate race
The Associated Press
FRANKFORT — Democrat Jodie Haydon raised more than twice as much as his GOP opponent for his state Senate race.
Documents filed with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance show Haydon took in $64,855 while Republican Jimmy Higdon raised $31,655.
The two are running in a special election to replace former state Sen. Dan Kelly who resigned when Gov. Steve Beshear appointed him as a circuit judge.
The election is set for Dec. 8.
The race is considered key in a push by Beshear to sway the Senate’s balance of power to improve his odds for passing a bill to expand gambling in Kentucky.

Gee, I wonder what motivated Jodie to come out of retirement? There must be at least 527 reasons.
God, the guy looks like a crook! I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could thorw him.
[...] Higdon, a state representative from Lebanon, faces Democrat Jodie Haydon, a former state representative, in a Dec. 8 special election for the state Senate seat vacated by Republican Dan Kelly, who was recently appointed to a judgeship. Haydon is outrasing Higdon so far. [...]
Haydon will again represent the area well just like he did when he was Nelson County judge. The above comments are ignorant.
