Mr. Toohey

There exist SERIOUS ENVIRONMENT CONCERNS about disposing of waste from a battery manufacturing plant. THE KY EPA laws should be studied also.

There does exist TOXIC WASTE from battery plants.

Mr. Toohey,

The problem with this project is the Asians are already far ahead in this technology and hold most of the patents on NEW AGE batteries.

The Japanese auto makers will probably buy batteries made by joint ventures between battery makers and car manufacturers.
Example: Toyota and Panasonic. Honda and Sony.

This deal, is way too much money and every manufacturer in America is looking for some place to qualify for the Obama\Congress stimulus. This is similar to the three wheel car fiasco.

Its a good idea but only after EXTENSIVE MARKET STUDIES just to see the size of the projected market.

Kentucky is investing $200 million for 2,000 jobs. That's $100,000 per job it creates, at best.
My advice to those folks who get jobs is to rent, don't buy. Don't think that just because you make something, that somebody will buy the batteries. Please don't sink your lives into this. If it was such a good idea, don't you think Warren Buffett and T. Boone Pickens would have already broken ground? It's legal extortion and the governor its willing victim.

Legalize hemp and it'll create about 16,000 agriculture jobs in 44-agriculture producing counties. That doesn't even take into consideration the high-tech jobs that would be created to begin manufacturing the some 50,000 products that can be made from hemp.

American grown hemp can be made into toxic-free drywall. Do that, and we won't have to buy toxic, Chinese-made drywall.

Regulate and tax medical and recreational hemp (marijuana), and much of Kentucky's budget problems would be addressed.

It's estimated that if California were to tax medical marijuana and distribution facilities, it could general $1.3 billion a year in revenue.

So saying it could bring 2000 jobs means the same as saying it could not bring 2000 jobs. Would be better it they just stated how many jobs it WILL bring. But then again we get a toxic waster plant no other state will take thanks gov.
