In 1994 our community enacted an Ethics Act (Chapter 25) in order to further public confidence.

Only four appointed bodies (Planning Commission, Comprehensive Plan Update Committee, Board of Adjustment, and Ethics Commission) are currently covered by this Ethics Act.

I think it is high time for the City Council to revisit this Ordinance and expand Ethics Commission oversight to all members of government Boards and Commissions who are entrusted with taxpayer funds.

Yet a proposal to do this very thing has been buried in the Inter-Governmental Committee for almost two years.

Join me in asking the City Council to move this out of Committee and vote to expand the number of government Boards and Commissions covered by the Ethics Ordinance.
