We mined coal for almost a hundred years with out this kind of destruction. We have lost thousands of underground mining jobs because of this destructive mining method.

Contract underground miners get $20.00 a ton to mine coal the coal corporations sell for $60 a ton at present.

If you want to blow the top off a mountain and push 100-150 feet of mountain top overburden into a valley and cover up a fresh water stream you can do it for around $6 dollars a ton, sells for the same price $60

It takes 3-4 times more men to mine coal underground. More real money into the community. The coal is owned by out of state interest, the coal corporations are owned by out of state interest. We get all this destruction and no money into the community for the handfull of men it takes to MTR.

Stop MTR and save the mountains plus get all those muddy cars back in Lexington and Louisville buying big ticket items.

Eco terrorism is what you call this style of miser mining.

Way to go Ashley, you'll garner a better response when you shill for a cause within your own state instead of looking elsewhere. Now if you could just find a better team to cheer for.
